Restaurování šperků baronky Ulriky von Levetzow
Luděk Klápa trained as a goldsmith - a jeweler in Prague. There he also graduated with a high school diploma in the field of arts and crafts. After graduating, he traveled to England, where he got a job as a diamond mounter at T. O’Donoghue, a luxury diamond maker and antique jewelry dealer with more than 60 years of tradition, based in London's renowned Hatton Garden jewelry district. Their customers included not only prestigious jewelry stores from London's Bond Street to 5th Avenue in New York, but also celebrities and members of the royal family. He worked here for 4 years under the guidance of master jeweler Stan Somerford. Thanks to cooperation with the best British jewelers, during this time he improved his techniques in jewelry making, setting precious stones, repairing and restoring antique jewelry, as well as in evaluating the quality of diamonds and precious stones.

After returning to Bohemia, he founded the jewelery company LK ATELIÉR and continues to produce jewelry in his workshop in Benešov near Prague, where he also opened the LK ATELIER - ZLATNICTVÍ store. He now runs the company with his wife Zuzana Klápová, who is a goldsmith and a certified specialist in metal restoration. He collaborates with Zlatnictví K in Benešov and the studio of K. O. V. at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.

As a goldsmith, Ludek Klapa was a member of RNDr. Radek Hanus Ph.D. team, who restored a set of jewelry by Baroness Ulrika von Levetzow, one of the 10 most valuable goldsmith works located in the Czech Republic. The set is the largest known collection of large cut Czech garnets in the world.
